About

Hey, Kimber, the hands (and heart) behind FunkPulp.

I create things the way I live—resourceful, slow, and on the outside. Creativity, after all, is the best form of expression—the kind that lasts without adding to the weight of the world.

When I look around, all I see is resources. Art is different.
When we create true art, we create something that’s an end product. You look, and don’t see a need for improvement, you don’t consider its value, or purpose, or how it fits into your life. You just love it (or you don’t). I aim to create lovable works of art—with unconventional stuff.

FunkPulp is where I sporadically gather my work together and drop it in one place. Inventory is varied, unique, and exclusive: chrocheted plarn bags, patchwork totes, beaded brooches, soft-sculpture, reworked clothing, hats—anything goes.

a blissful shop

Some offerings are one-of-a-kind. Others are made in very small batches.
Once they’re gone, they’re gone.

I lean heavily toward functional art—work that can be worn and used, that doesn’t just speak to you—but speak for you. Sometimes that voice is soft and nurturing, other times, loud and obnoxious—and a whole bunch of frequencies in between.
That art can speak a thousand words, without saying anything at all. I love that.

Handmade things radiate and nourish our soul with life-force energy. They nurture and heal. Whereas, mass-produced stuff—fast-fashion, disposable junk (made without care or integrity)—that stuff is soul-sucking. And, we’re buried under mountains of it.

It’s possible (with magic) to take that stuff and transform its nature into nourishment.

FunkPulp is about the joy of creating with what you have, cultivating magic in your life, and transforming soul-sucking surroundings into sacred space.

My hope is that my work sings to you.
That it doesn’t just turn heads but turns hearts (in a transformational way).

Many blessings + much love, Kimber
